Now we're talking! I looked up what was the top of the line film camera in pentax's lineup. It was just about in my price bracket, provided I picked one up with a slight lightleak in the form of a completely broken hinge on the back door.
Aside from that issue (which is always easy enough to solve with a bit of tape) it quickly became my favourite pentax. It is a stereotype but my photo's really do look better on this camera.
I have the weird FB-1 with the FD-1 magnifying eyepiece and it's like looking at a cinema screen so large; with somehow both shutter speed and aperture displayed even on manual lenses. It also makes the camera comically unwieldy; a shame as the camera would be small for a system camera otherwise.
I thought about picking up a more normal viewfinder later but that turned out to be about as expensive as just getting a second camera. So I did.
The weird thing is that the LX I bought from japan despite it's broken back hinge is in slightly better shape mechanically than the LX I bought from another furry from his recently diseased dad's gigant collection (he had good taste!), did the japanese just give a CLA to a broken camera?
